How did this “little” point get lost in the NSA story?

The NSA’s JOB is to spy on the communications of our enemies, not to listen to and record your phone calls.

Here’s a case where they not only got it massively wrong, it also looks like they remained silent while their “evidence” was used to drive the US into a ruinous war.

Did they present false information to the Bush criminals or did they merely sit back and do nothing when that evidence was grossly misrepresented.

It hardly matters, does it. Massively wrong in either case.

Exposing COINTELPRO

On this day in 1971, a little known act of heroism by a handful of everyday people revealed the existence of an FBI political squad (COINTELPRO.)

This FBI operation, which still exists but without the name, was involved in a wide range of illegal activities in the service of suppressing dissent.

A rigged system

Some of the richest countries in the world are filled with desperately poor people.

Having oil, copper, gold and other valuable resources does not translate into healthy economies.

Why not?

Simple: The wealth that is generated by these resources is stolen by a handful of local elites who cooperate with foreign looters.

The offshore banking system facilitates this theft and if the local complain – or have the temerity to keep the profits for themselves (think Iraq, Libya, Venezuela etc.), they are dealt with by other means.

Never saw a war they didn’t like

Jimmy Dore reviews MSNBCs recent attempted take down of anti-war presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbert.

All war, all the time.

And it’s fine with ALL the news networks: MSNBC, FOX, CNN, NPR etc.

Here “Morning Joe” goes four against one to try to undermine the credibility of the only presidential candidate unambiguously against the war.

Could it be because she’s the only candidate who is a veteran?

The US news media motto should be: Support the Vets – unless they’re against war

Why is such a rich state so poor

Louisiana is one of the most economical productive states in the Union.

Oil, natural gas, chemical production, rice, sugar…it’s a mjor source of all these commodities.

Meanwhile its people are the poorest in the country with the poorest health.

$53 million stolen from just one small city

There’s very little reporting on the details of financial fraud in government.

There’s almost no reporting on fraud at the local level.

Given that there are 13,506 school districts, 19,354 cities and 3,144 counties the potential for fraud is massive.

A long-term CIA project

A short history on 40+ years of US sponsored terrorism against a poor but proud island of 11 million people,

George Bush Sr. was known by the FBI to run with violent Cuban exiles as documented in a memo written by none other than J. Edgar Hoover.

For decades, CIA-supported Cubans committed acts of terror in Cuba and around the globe attempting to destabilize the Castro government and put the island back under US government and organized crime control.

Not only do US citizens have their communications recorded and stored for future review, the FBI and DOJ are not above manufacturing things to target “enemies.”

“Enemies” would be anyone who tells the truth and/or has a political opinion that does not support the existing government.

“Lawfare”…it’s like warfare, but the government uses “exta-legal” action to target its enemies.

Robert Mueller – the guy who let the bank HSBC skate on laundering BILLIONS in drug money – is the master of lawfare.
