We don’t see people on roofs or going without food and water in downtown Houston so the impact of this storm is not fully appreciated.
The deaths in New Orleans were mostly caused by the catastrophic failure of the US Army Corps of Engineers designed, built and maintained levee system.
How many people – including the elderly and handicapped – are stranded in their homes without food or potable water is as yet unknown.
Meanwhile, the government and the moronic news media are engaged in an endless barrage of “happy talk.” The reality is much different. The federal and state response has been weak, uncoordinated and underpowered.
Fox Host: “You called the President recently, an elected dictator. What do you mean by that?”
Ron Paul: “Well, you know, a couple weeks ago he announced Congress is too slow. They don’t move fast enough. So, he was very bold about it. He says, ‘I’m going to pass my legislation one piece at a time. His stimulus package. I’ll write an executive order every week.’ I mean that is arrogant. He is flaunting the Constitution and the whole principles of how we are supposed to operate. Even though these Executive Orders have been around for a long time and I’ve complained about them a long time. But the idea that they can just do this and take over the legislative function and brag about it and Congress does nothing and the courts do nothing.”
By now, most of us are pretty well convinced that Anwar Al-Awlaki was a bad guy. Even I’ll buy that he was a bad dude.
The idea that due-process is now OPTIONAL is a very frightening prospect. Scratch that, it’s a very frightening new reality.
Perhaps they’re not inclined to due-process because it would show that Al-Awlaki, the CIA lackey, worked for them all along. After all, this is the guy that rubbed elbows with the brass at the Pentagon dinner.
Now he’s dead, and a new precedent is set.
Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) suggested Monday while speaking at the University of New Hampshire that President Barack Obama could be impeached for the killing of U.S.-born al Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in a drone strike in Yemen.
Paul said an “impeachment process would be possible,” according to The Hill. He added, “You could do more investigating into this. I put responsibility on the president. This is obviously a major step in the wrong direction.”
The libertarian-leaning presidential candidate said Friday that the killing amounted to an “assassination.” He said America’s leaders must think hard about “assassinating American citizens without charges.”
Despite his libertarian views, which sometimes put him at odds with the GOP, Paul has had much success with his “money bomb” fundraising and has substantial organization in early states.
Paul has already said that Obama’s decision to authorize military action in Libya without congressional approval was an “impeachable offense.” But Paul said Monday that calling for the president’s impeachment was typical for him: “I just said almost every president I’ve known I’d probably have to vote for impeachment, because there’s very little respect for the Constitution — and certainly there’s no respect for the Constitution for assassinating American citizens.”

The military had spies in the White House during the Nixon administration.
Alexander Haig, a general, ran the country for all practical purposes while Nixon melted down.
Other little known facts:
1. Haig controlled the White House safe that held the notorious Watergate tapes which brought Nixon down
2. Bob Woodward, the famous Washington Post journalist who broke the Watergate story, was a Yale grad, a Navy officer, a likely NSA officer, and a briefer to Alexander Haig when he was in the military.
Small world isn’t it.
For more info on this see the book “Silent Coup” by Gerald and Deborah Strober.
It’s a distinct possibility that the US military wanted to get rid of Nixon and went ahead and did it.
Nothing is more important to the future of the United States than the impeachment of Vice President “Dick” Cheney.
Dennis Kucinich is a hero and the US news media, characteristically is ignoring this news.
Spread the word: impeachment is on the table.
