Russia continues to assert that their military presence in Ukraine is entirely peaceful. Is this entirely true?

Certainly Russia has the means to take over today if they wanted to.

So what’s really going on behind this story?

Surely Russian propaganda plays a role, as does Eastern Ukraine and perhaps NATO’s own propaganda.

A full historical background covering the facts only will paint the picture a little better for anyone trying to understand the conflict.

WWIII on horizon?

For God’s sake, don’t get involved in a land war in Asia.

These are wise words.

Land wars in Asia never seem to go as the foreign forces expect.

And so would go US involvement in Ukraine.

We barely know where it is on a map.

So how can we get involved in the complicated politics that are embroiling the region?

The Lame Stream news media could learn a few lessons.

In this case, Russian civilians and Russian military units have just surrounded the Ukraine’s Naval High Command in Sevastopol.

They’re blocking all the entrances and exists and the base is essentially under a state of siege.

Here’s something you don’t see every day.

Citizens block a convoy of armored personnel carriers packed with troops armed to the teeth.

They block them and hold them and eventually the troops are disarmed.

The troops in question are Ukrainian “anti-terror” troops and the citizens are pro-Russian protestors.

Pretty calm and orderly. I’m afraid I can’t imagine our own steroid-jacked police and troops handling such a tense situation with such calm and poise.
